What She Chose

A few weeks ago the three of us were shopping in a craft store. As we were roaming (or rather,  as I was dragging my poor family around) Amelia found this little flower pot with two pink gerbera daisies and requested to bring it home for her room. From the outside this may seem like no big deal, but Jason and I exchanged a meaningful look in the store when she said it: she is growing up, becoming increasingly like a 'little girl' and less like a small child every day. She is becoming more and more of who she will one day be. Later, this and a few other events sparked a discussion among the three of us. Amelia will be turning five at the end of the month and she deserves a little re-vamp and a little more say into the decoration to the room that is all her own (I noticed last night, with a tad of chagrin, that her picture rail still houses a baby rattle and other newborn-y decorations). It will not be a full on makeover. Just some tweaking here and there as we celebrate her and her new stage. I'll be sure to keep the fun stuff posted!
