Little Book Bits: Why I Love Spoon

There has not been much grown-up reading around here these days, but there is always
reading with the little one. Spoon is new to our rotation and I just felt compelled to tell you about it.

The story line is great (about being yourself and recognizing your own special talents and place in the world) and the illustrations are precious. What I find so refreshing, however, is that the Spoon family is a family of three.

Despite dreams for a larger family, we are a family of three. We are at peace about that now, yet it was still a delightful change of pace to read a children's book without the "Daddy, Mommy, Sister, Brother,"standard. So, if you too are a family of three, you may find this one especially relatable (and so cute, really).
