Barefoot Sunday: Chicken Piccata and Parmesan Smashed Potatoes

After yesterday's Halloween candy shenanigans, we were craving a soothing, comforting Sunday dinner.  Thus, chicken piccata from the Barefoot Contessa At Home cookbook combined with the parmesan smashed potatoes from The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook. They did the trick! We left the table warm and full-bellied. The preparation was very simple, if not just a tad messy (I know real chefs have that wet-hand/dry-hand method for dredging but oh well!) and quite honestly, I felt very culinary and glamorous with the lemon halves swirling around the butter sauce. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the skin-on potatoes were a very delicious and hearty texture. Yum!
